Weston, Florida – Just as the prosecutor was preparing to prosecute him for the deaths of three of his friends, new images and information about a 22-year-old Weston man who had fled the country surfaced.
Prosecutors say Luis Grateron was killed in a Miami-Dade County crash while driving drunk. A few weeks after the March crash last year, Grateron’s Snapchat shows the unique scars left over from the crash.
A friend currently publishing believes that Snapchat’s post may contain details that will help authorities track down Grateron.
“All he had to do was take his foot off the gas, and he didn’t, so I can’t forgive it,” said 21-year-old daughter Daniela in a crash. According to the arrest warrant, the other two victims were Sherry Lap (20 years old) and Diego Ortiz (21 years old).
The warrant outlines evidence of placing a Grateron behind the handle of a turbocharged 2018 Volkswagen Golf on the morning of March 8 after a party in Winwood. There were four passengers. Only one survived.
Data collected from the wreckage of the vehicle shows that Grateron was traveling 147 mph a few minutes before the collision. The surviving passengers said Grateron “raised his middle finger” to the Florida Highway Patrol soldiers as he ran beside him.
“It flicks police officers and speeds up at 147 mph … they were lazy and conscious decisions,” Hernandez said.
