DONALD Trump Jr has called for an “immediate government investigation” into Twitter for “interfering” in the presidential election.
The president’s son tweeted on Thursday, tagging both Twitter and CEO Jack Dorsey, that there should be an investigation “not just because of their blatant election interference to protect Biden.”
“But to find out if they’re censoring these NY Post stories at the behest of the Chinese Communist Party,” Trump Jr wrote. “Put Jack under oath!!!”
On Wednesday, the New York Post published an article about a “smoking gun email” Hunter Biden received from Vadym Pozharskyi, an adviser to Ukrainian gas company Burisma’s board.
There needs to be an immediate government investigation into @twitter/@jack.
Not just because of their blatant election interference to protect Biden, but to find out if they’re censoring these NY Post stories at the behest of the Chinese Communist Party.

Critics of Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden have often tried to attack and question the former VP’s relationship with Ukraine.
Hunter Biden joined the board of the Ukrainian gas company Burisma in 2014, around the time Biden was helping conduct the Obama administration’s foreign policy with Ukraine.
President Donald Trump and his supporters have alleged that Biden pushed for the firing of Ukraine’s top prosecutor to protect his son and Burisma from any investigation.
Biden did push for the prosecutor’s firing – but that’s because he was reflecting the official position of not only the Obama administration, but many Western countries and because the prosecutor was seen as “soft on corruption.”
Both Twitter and Facebook censored the article because they said they didn’t want to allow potential false information to spread on their platforms.
But Dorsey quickly admitted that blocking the story without explaining why was “unacceptable.”
“Our communication around our actions on the @nypost article was not great,” Dorsey tweeted.
“And blocking URL sharing via tweet or DM with zero context as to why we’re blocking: unacceptable.”
Dorsey quote tweeted an earlier post by Twitter Safety stating: “We want to provide much needed clarity around the actions we’ve taken with respect to two NY Post articles that were first Tweeted this morning.”
Twitter users reported issues when attempting to share a link to the Post’s report that Hunter was seen “smoking crack during a sex act” in a video revealed along with emails that allegedly showed he did introduce a Ukraine executive to his dad Joe when he was vice president.
The Post later reported on Thursday that Hunter Biden tried to land a series of lucrative deals with a Chinese energy company in 2017, including one deal the former VP’s son said would be of interest to “my family.”
Hunter was reportedly in talks with the Shanghai-based conglomerate CEFC China Energy Co, with one message detailing “remuneration packages” for six people involved in the scheme.
Republican Senators Ted Cruz, Lindsey Graham, and Josh Hawley said on Thursday that they are calling for Dorsey and Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg to testify before Congress over the censorship claims.
Cruz said that the Senate Judiciary Committee “wants to know what the hell is going on.”
Hawley wrote a letter formally asking the social media moguls to appear before the Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on Crime and Terrorism in a hearing titled “Digital Platforms and Election Interference.”
The letter alleges that the hearing will “consider potential campaign law violations arising from your company’s decision, on October 14, 2020, to support the presidential campaign of Joe Biden by asymmetrically applying its terms of service and restricting the distribution of a New York Post article.”
